Introducing THE HOOVER
Feb. 2nd, 2011 11:20 pmToday our cleaner came round again, and this time I let her hoover. Spice came downstairs as soon as she arrived, interested in the new person and willing (cautiously) to make friends. This actually became a problem, as she was very interested in what J was doing and I didn't want her scared by the Vax, which is a bit of a monster. I managed finally to end up with Spice downstairs and the hoover upstairs. When the stairs were hoovered, we swapped places. Once things were quiet again, I could hear Spice approaching J as she worked and being talked to. So, that all went very well.
Random played with her when she got home. Pol is not here tonight, but Home Time has remained Play Time. I then ended up settled down to watch TV, eating Random's chocolate biscuits and with Spice curled up under my knees in a cave made of blanket.
I've cleared out my entire wardrobe, ending up with a carrier bag full of clothes I don't wear and everything which should be on hangers, on hangers. Spice thought this was great, and had to be chased out of the wardrobe several times. She is now confident enough that I can actually tell her off if she's where I don't want her to be, knowing she won't bolt in terror. She just puts her ears back and slopes off to the nearest play area, where of course she gets rewarded with play and a fuss. Just now, she's sitting underneath the bed beneath me as I type. By the sound of things, she's having a good wash.
