Apr. 19th, 2010 09:25 amThe lack of posting is because I've been busy. I'm doing so much in the mornings now that by 5pm (my daily post time) I am usually shattered. I can't really beat myself up for not doing a Daily Post when I've been tiring myself doing other things, like Being In London and doing long journeys from London to Bolton via Northampton (where I missed Wingedkami's wedding. I finally unpacked my unworn wedding outfit on Friday and felt bad about it all over again.) Ccooke and Ruthi were both as lovely to me as ever and I finally got to see the William Morris museum. Lots and lots of lovely Arts and Crafts Movement artefacts and pseudomedieval tiling and stuff. Gorgeous.
This weekend Pol had Kiera and Rhi over. Both were excellent guests and lots of fun to be around. I missed out on dinner in Upholland but did manage both breakfast and lunch at the Great Barn in Rivington Country Park. We walked for about two hours. The food there is wonderful - pretty frou-frou desserts and brie-and-parma-ham sandwiches for the posh, soups for the cold, ice-creams for the hot and bacon or sausage or egg barms for the bikers. None of it is particularly expensive either. Go Ape, the tree-climbing enterprise, on the other hand, is £30 a head, £20 for children. We passed on that.
We walked to the model of Liverpool Castle and back. Nobody died or got stuck in mud or fell off walls or down hills or into the reservoir or anything. This might have made it a very disappointing walk for Rhi.
After we got back, I went to bed for a rest while everyone else watched the recording of Dr Who. Today, I am back to playing mafia each morning. I do think, though, that I'd like to get the Daily Posts going again. If I do them before bed, it means I have to go to bed before I am utterly tired out, and this may be a good thing from the point of view of sleep hygiene and more energy and things.
