Meal Planning
Oct. 18th, 2009 01:28 pmI'm back to the point where I can plan delicious meals. (I am putting off getting Abel and Cole for another week, since I can buy this week's entire deluxe box locally.)
I have a chicken roasting in the oven, next to sweet potatoes (plain) and pumpkin which has been sprinkled with mixed spice.
My menu so far:
*Monday*
Sweet potato, chicken, bacon and pumpkin soup.
*Tuesday*
Chicken, leek, mushroom and sweetcorn in a white sauce (possibly even a white wine sauce)
*Wednesday*
Cheese, celery and raisin bake with minced lamb
*Thursday*
Venison, cream, mushrooms
*Friday*
Courgette fritters and flavoured sausages (what flavour depends on what the butcher has)
*Saturday*
Readymade stew from the butcher.
*Sunday*
That's where I draw a blank. Any ideas for next Sunday? All veg suggested should be in season, so I can buy it locally, and I buy all the meat on Tuesday so it has to keep, although if need be I can move Thursday's dish, or even Wednesday's to Sunday and cook something else on that day. In the best of all possible worlds, it uses ingredients I already have.
