It's actually hot and sunny out, so suddenly I have physical energy and lots of it. Accordingly, I have finally started clearing the massive overgrowth that resulted from my either not being around, or ignoring the garden since the first of June. It's all compost, anyway.
I've tried again with peas and beans. I found that two whole mange tout plants (of the 60 I planted) actually sprouted! They're tiny though, so I suspect the soil just might not have any of the requisite bacteria. I'll be sure to dig in some wild clover roots when I find some.
All the bulbs I put in are doing well. I have freesias flowering. So happy! I also have some potato plants, though the garlic plants are slowly but steadily vanishing.
On non-garden news, I celebrated Pol's new contract with a stuffed cuddly Enterprise. He seems pleased.
