Paperwork
I have a funeral director, so at around 3pm UK time that will all start being handled (she is currently at another funeral). I have the paperwork I need on its way here, other than his passport and I've done all I need to do to make sure that the funeral director can get it.
He will be cremated in Scotland as per his parents' wishes. They are completely knocked down by this sudden and unexpected death of their first child and would not cope with being sent ashes from Germany.
Kira has been fantastic about finding things she can sort out, and so have both my siblings. I only have to make sure he leaves Germany, and the funeral director takes charge of all of that from now on.
I have help with future claims for bereavement allowance and PIP, as well as whatever is in our joint bank account (it was something I never touched so I have some work to do there).
There will definitely be some sort of memorial service on or close to the 4th March 2022. Obviously that happens closer to the time, but it will take the place of what would have been his funeral and be treated as if it were his funeral. Very probably this will be when his ashes will be scattered.
No idea what is happening regarding the online gathering. I assume people do want one? I am entirely out of spoons for making this happen. I have no idea when would be good either.
My thanks to everyone who has had given me phone details and let me just wibble at them when I'm feeling alone and stuck for what comes next or, worse, have nothing left to do. That's keeping me together right now.
I will be talking to my GP tomorrow, to make sure my mental health is taken care of and that I get sleep and can cope.

A grab a beer and a really bad joke time. I can't honestly plan just now, I'm laser-focused on the immediate necessities, but some sort of celebration of his life would be good. The wake before next March's sending away.
