Things I have been thinking about.

I haven't been thinking about Iran. I probably should have (it's news, the election was ripped off, it's important) but seriously, no spoons. I've been not playing Mafia, not reading a manuscript, not doing much. The generalised guilt has been getting me down, so back to daily updates it is, then.

I've been thinking about gifts, presents, the nature of gift-giving, all of which has kicked me into gear on a few long-put-off things, like sending rooibus to Spain to my former, very wonderful landlady (who hates the word 'landlady' because, she says, it reminds her of Mrs Mopp). I can't think of her without thinking of poetry. Specifically, They Fuck You Up, Your Mum And Dad by Philip Larkin. My own favourite poems are either
